EPA’s Methane Rule Isn’t Just a Reporting Problem — It’s a Filtration Problem
EPA’s final rule under Subpart OOOOb reaches existing sources for the first time, not just new construction, and the first annual reports under it are due no earlier than November 30, 2026. Liquid carryover or particulate contamination in the fuel gas stream degrades combustion performance in ways that don’t show up until someone’s asking why your destruction efficiency numbers don’t match your reported assumptions. Coalescing and particulate filtration upstream of the combustion device isn’t optional if you want your reported numbers to hold up.
